Jerry Wayne Pennington, 73, of 257 Little Hope Road, passed away on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019, at Wendover Hospice Home.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Joyce Wilkie Pennington and the son of the late Grover Pennington and Estelle Lanier Pennington. Mr. Pennington worked in textiles and was a member of Christian Fellowship Church.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by three sons, Billy Wayne Pennington, Jerry Wayne Pennington, Jr. and wife, Tonya, and James Harrison Pennington; one daughter, Angela Kirby; one brother, Louis Dean Pennington; one sister, Charlotte Parker; six grandchildren, Reggie Glenn McDaniel, Jr., Jeremy Wayne Pennington, Ricky Dewayne Mullinax, Jessica Louise Kirby, James Harrison Pennington, Jr., and Madison Lynn Pennington; and one great-granchild, Khloe Elizabeth Pennington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Patty Rene Pennington, his brother, JR Pennington, and his sisters, Annie Vaughn, Lois Hall, and Brenda Stroupe.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 18th, 2019 at 5:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 18th, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Clingman Memorial Gardens, 1219 East Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702 with Rev. Willie Lanier officiating.
