Jerry Wayne Pennington Jr., 47, of 2860 Blacksburg Road, passed away on Thursday, March 16th, 2023, at the main campus of Atrium Health.

Born in Gaffney, South Carolina, he was the husband of Tonya Mullinax Pennington and the son of Jerry and Joyce Wilkie Pennington. Jerry formerly worked in HVAC and was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Shelby. Jerry loved his family and loved being outdoors, whether it being riding four-wheelers or shooting guns.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Pennington is survived by two sons, Ricky Mullinax and Jeremy Pennington (Lindzey), all of Grover; a granddaughter that shares Jerry's birthday, Khloe Pennington, of Grover; a brother, James Pennington, of Blacksburg; and a sister, Angela Kirby, of Blacksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Michelle Pennington and Patty Painter, and a brother, Billy Pennington.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel.
