Jessie Pearl Hill Bridges, 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.  Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Bynum Sylvanus and Minnie Carolyn Akins Hill.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Herman Bridges; brothers, Austin Hill, Ervin Hill, B.S. Hill; sisters, Mae Peterson, Elsie Cooper, Willie Owens.  Jessie was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting and needlepoint.  Her greatest love was the time spent with her family. 

 Jessie is survived by her loving sons, Harold Bridges of the home and Ricky Bridges and wife Lynn of Shelby; grandchildren, Billy and Jamie Bridges of Shelby; sister, Mary Crotts of Shelby; brothers, Alvin Hill of Rock Hill and Frank Hill and wife Sarah of Rock Hill.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Chapel of Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  The Rev. Tim Trexler will be officiating.  Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:30pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  At other times the family will be at the home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Building Fund, 1227 Mt. Sinai Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152.
