Jethro Ross
 Mr. Jethro Ross, 59, of Gastonia, NC, departed this life on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.  A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Julius H. and Dora Johnson Ross.

Jethro was an active participant at Saint Peters A.M.E. Zion Church in Gastonia where he was a member of the usher board and on the male chorus.  He was known as the comedian of the family and was a friendly, outgoing person who trusted everyone he came in contact with.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Burdell Ross, Jimmy Ross and Julius Ross, Jr. and a sister, Betsy Young.

He is survived by four children, Katina Wray-Smith (William) and Jeffery J. Ross of Shelby, Jermaine Ross of MI and Jy-vin Ross of Gastonia; his brothers and sisters, Nancy Bridges and Steve Ross (Ollie Mae) both of Waco, J.R. Ross (Lena) of Grover, NC, Tillie Hunt (Tommie), Mary Moore (Steve), Sharon Kee and Karen Thurman (Lloyd) all of Shelby; six grandchildren, Quan, Daryl, Ta’Varus, Myi Kale, Shiniah and Jada; a very special nephew, Keith Black of Kingstown, NC; a very close friend, Vonetta Hoke of Gastonia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Les Howard officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:30 PM at the church and at other times at

the home of his daughter, Katina Wray-Smith, 111 Condor Drive, Shelby, NC.  Condolences can be expressed at www.enloes.net.  Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
