Jill Miller Allison

Mrs. Jill Miller Allison, age 64 of 2426 Gaffney Road, Boiling Springs, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Born in Lincoln County on August 2, 1952, she was the last survivor of the three children of the late Rev. Glenn Allen "Razz" Miller and Ruth Hollis Miller. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Hollis Allen Miller, and her sister, Marillyn Miller Remeta.

She was christened at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vale, and confirmed into the membership of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Salisbury, where she was president of Lutheran Youth and choir member as a teenager. She graduated from East Rowan High School in 1970 at the top of her class, and received a BS in Pharmacy from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1975. She worked full-time as a pharmacist for Eckerd Drugs for eight years and retired from health reasons after 25 years, part-time at Hardin's Drug, Forest City.

On June 10, 1973, she married Doyne Allison of Boiling Springs, who survives her. Their daughter, Jennifer Robin, was born on December 8, 1984 and still lives in the family home. The couple first lived in Durham, Hillsborough, and Charlotte, moving to the family home in No. 1 Township in 1980.

She loved Shakespeare plays, musical shows, college football, and the history and literature of the British Isles, as well as beach and mountain trips.

In addition to her husband and daughter, other survivors include, her sister-in-law, Susan Gribble Miller of Concord; her brother-in-law, James Remeta of Fort Bragg, California; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Darrell and Renee Allison of Boiling Springs; niece Bethany A. Condrey, husband Eric, and children, Olivia and Mac of Boiling Springs; niece Bonnie Allison and son Cash Derrick of Boiling Springs; nephew Jeffrey Miller of Toluca Lake, CA; nephew, Jonathan Miller, wife LeeAnn, son Hollis and daughter Avery of Concord; and special friends, Kim France, Grace France, Patti Byars, Joanne and Douglas Pittman, and Paul Pittman. Eighteen first-cousins also survive.

A fellowship dinner will begin at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 27th 2017 in the fellowship hall of Crestview Baptist Church, Shelby. A Celebration of Life program will begin at approximately 6:45 pm with visitation to continue until 8:30 pm.
