Mr. Jim Wilkins, 76, of Shelby, NC, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010. Services were held at First Baptist Church, Webb Chapel, Shelby, NC. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery, Shelby.
Mr. Wilkins served our country in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne in Fort Benning, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sartin and Lucille Gambill Wilkins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary “Mimi” Royster Wilkins; 4 sons, Douglas Wilkins and wife Julie of Hickory, NC, Bill Wilkins and wife Sheryl of Redmond, WA, Steve Wilkins and wife Jody of Shelby, NC and Frank Wilkins of Redondo Beach, CA; and 6 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice of Kings Mountain, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150; or to: First Baptist Church, 120 N. Lafayette Street, Shelby, NC 28150.
