Jimmie Ray Buchanan, age 76,  of  Kings Mountain, NC, went to heaven on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Robin Johnson Hospice House of Gastonia, NC. Born in Gaston County, NC, he was the son of the late Daniel and Eunice Holcomb Buchanan. He dearly loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. A faithful member of East Gold Street Wesleyan Church  for 50 years, he served as a trustee, usher, board member and custodian. He retired from Wix Corporation after 37 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Brother: Glenn Buchanan and wife Betty, Belmont, NC

FUNERAL SERVICE: East Gold Street Wesleyan Church, Saturday, February 26, 2011, at 3:00 P.M.   Revs. Daryl Lewis, Tommy Buchanan,  Scott Buchanan, officiating

VISITATION:  The family will receive friends at East Gold Street Wesleyan Church from 1:00 to 2:30 prior to the service, and at other times atthe home of daughter, Lisa Batchler, 304 Pinehurst Dr., Kings Mountain, NC

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC

MEMORIALS: The family has requested no flowers but that memorials be made to East Gold Street Wesleyan Church, 701 E. Gold Street, Kings Mountain, NC, or to the Life Enrichment Center, 222 Kings Mountain Blvd, Kings Mountain, NC or to the Robin Johnson Hospice House, 5005 Shepherd Way Dr. , Dallas, NC  28034
