Jimmy Joe Venable age 73 died Wednesday December 25, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Born in Guilford County he was the son of the late Ervin and  Eddie Hunter Howerton and   . Jimmy was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer since 1995, he drove a truck for Willie’s Furniture for 20 years, and he enjoyed Nascar and was an avid Dale Jr. fan.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 19 years, Diane Whitaker; a nephew, Steve Venable of Burlington; three nieces, Luann Sorrell of Lewisville, Angela Hill of Brevard, and Beverly Mortez of Myrtle Beach SC.                                     

Funeral services will on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 10:30am at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer with The Rev. Dr. Valori Mulvey Sherer officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in Parish Hall. Burial will be held at a later time at Rose Hill Cemetery in Fallston.
