Jimmy Ray Gordon, Sr. age 56 of Armstrong Circle died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at his residence. He was born on January 15, 1959 in Cherokee County, SC to Frances Gallman Simpson of Cherryville and the late James Thomas Gordon. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by sisters, Sandi Beaty and Gay Gordon.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rhonda Myers Gordon; children, Jimmy Gordon Jr. and Mylea Gordon, both of Sevierville, TN, Chasity Mauney and husband, David of Cherryville, Douglas Lunsford of Gastonia, and Cody Shuman of Mooresville; siblings, Richard Gordon and wife, Becky of Gaffney, SC, Tony Gordon and wife, Lois of Shelby, Sherry Dunn and husband, Scott of Gastonia, Tammy Smith and husband, Shane of York, SC, and Leroy Simpson and wife, Pamela of Concord; grandchildren, Ryder, Kira, Jordan, Cameron, Jaylynn, and Madison; and special friends, Becky and Mike Ross of Cherryville.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Pastor Crystal Faulkner officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
