Jimmy Weldon Hopper
 Jimmy Weldon Hopper, 83, of 1424 Sulphur Springs Road, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Kings Mountain Hospice House.  A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Earl Lanceford and Lillian Hardin Hopper.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Charles T. Hopper and a sister Libby Nestlerode.

Mr. Hopper was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church.  He was a retired partner of Shelby Heating and Air.  His biggest hobby was restoring A-Model cars and he was a member of the A-Model club.  For twenty years he was a building contractor.  He loved the outdoors and loved cutting grass.  Mr. Hopper loved his family and his church.

Mr. Hopper is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Faye Wright Hopper; son, J. Daryl Hopper and Celia Pribble, and children John, Jimmy and Lisa, all of Shelby; son, David Lance Hopper, wife Lisa and their children, Joshua, Lance, Jacob and great-grandson Jonah, all of Shelby.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church.  The Rev. Priscilla Walker will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:30 on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  At other times the family will be at the home.

Memorial may be given to Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 1605 Sulphur Springs Road, Shelby NC, 28152 or Hospice Cleveland County, 950 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC, 28150.
