| Mrs. Joan Simpson Hass, 79, of Gaffney, passed away on May 1, 2012. A graveside memorial service was held at Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs. Hass was preceded in death by her husband Vernet Delmar Hass and her parents Joseph Ruben and Lila Mae Hunter Simpson.
Mrs. Hass is survived by two sons, David Hass and wife, Cindy, of Gaffney and Matthew Vernon Hass and wife, Cherie, of Gaffney; a step-son, Bruce Phillips and wife, Peggy, of Houston, TX; a daughter, Lori Hass Batchler and husband, Craig, of Blacksburg; a step-daughter, Nancy Kolojaco and husband, Anthony, of Houston, TX; a brother, James Simpson and wife, Kathy, of Gaffney and seven grandchildren
