Joan Sylvia Willis, 78, of Belwood, passed away Friday, April 6,
2012 at Grace Health Care, a skilled Nursing Facility in Winston Salem.
She was born September 25, 1933 to the late Hartford Talmadge Willis and
Elvena Ivester Willis of Belwood.
Joan resided with her parents through 1992 then moved to Linville
Manor/Somerset Court Assisted Living Facility in Shelby on January 1, 1993.
She was moved to a Skilled Nursing Facility, Grace Healthcare, on March 29,
2012 due to her required level of care.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy
Willis Sutton, and a brother, Jessie Charles Willis.
Survivors include two brothers, Jerry Talmadge Willis and wife, Sybil, of
Shelby, and Halford Ivester Willis and wife, Nina, of Winston-Salem; two
nephews and three nieces; four grandnephews and three grandnieces.
Funeral Services: Will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 11, at Knob
Creek United Methodist Church
Visitation: The family will receive friends and family along with viewing at
the church from 1:00-1:45pm prior to the service.
Officiating: Rev. Patricia Chaput
Burial: Knob Creek United Methodist Church Cemetary
Memorials: In lieu of flowers. may be made to Knob Creek United Methodist
Church, 5701 Fallston Road Lawndale, NC 28090
