JoAnn Elizabeth Bridges Floyd

JoAnn Elizabeth Bridges Floyd, 81, of 623 Charles Rd. in Shelby, passed away
Thursday October 15, 2015 at Hospice, surrounded by her family.

Born September 5, 1934 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late
Colon Bridges and Elizabeth Morris Bridges. She retired from Shelby City
Schools and Cleveland County Schools with nearly 40 years of service. JoAnn
was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church for nearly 50 years. She
was an avid Duke fan and loved watching all sports. She will be remembered
as a kind and generous person who loved her family with all her heart and
soul.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jackie
Sisk and Judy Bridges.

Survivors include her husband of fifty nine years, Haroland Dean Floyd; one
son, Neal Floyd and wife Karen of Cornelius; two daughters, Gale Collins and
husband Mike of Belmont and Rhonda Kiser and fiance Tim Bowen of Shelby and
four grandchildren, Cortlan Zaludek and husband Jake of Shelby, Caroline
Allen of Nashville, TN, Colby Kiser and wife Tonee of Anchorage, Alaska and
Matthew Floyd of Cornelius; four great-grandchildren; and special friends,
Bob and Martha Buchanan of Shelby.

The memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Monday at Aldersgate United Methodist
Church with Rev. Jamie Mosteller and Rev. Sylvia Wilhelm officiating.

Visitation will follow the memorial service at the Epworth Center at
Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to the prayer garden at Aldersgate United Methodist
Church, 1207 W. Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC 28152 and to the Testa Family Hospice
House, 321 Kings Mountain Blvd, Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
