Mrs. Joann Scruggs Sain, 70, of 1138 Warlick Road, Lawndale, NC, formerly of Chesnee, passed away September 26, 2013 at her home. A native of Spartanburg County, she was the widow of Frank Sain and the daughter of the late Brooks Scruggs and Vader McSwain Davis. She was a paper carrier and of the Baptist faith. Her passion in life was her kids, grandchildren and her animals.

She is survived by her three children, Tracy Cox and his wife Dessie of Lawndale, NC, Tammy McKelvey and her husband Troy of Chesnee and Marcie Lancaster also of Lawndale, NC; eight grandchildren, Leigh Ann Hudson, Brandy Jones, Kayla Stewart, Timmy McKelvey, Kim McKelvey, Chris McKelvey, Gary Weaver and Nicole Weaver; nine great-grandchildren; and by her beloved animals, Toby, Marley, and Gracie.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Voyd Scruggs, Claude Edsel and Marie Blackwell.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September29, 2013 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Tabernacle Church Cemetery.
