JoAnn Surber, age 75, resident of Kings Mountain, NC went to be with her Lord and join her daughter, Sandy on August 14, 2016 at Carolina's Healthcare System, Cleveland, Shelby, NC. She was born in Mecklenburg Co. NC to the late Leroy Courtney and Margaret Courtney. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Sayers and brother, Bobby Courtney. Mrs. Surber was owner and operator of J&J Upholstery, former employee of Eaton, and a beautician. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who enjoyed sewing, cooking, shopping, and vacationing in Las Vegas. Her unconditional love was evident in many ways and will be greatly missed.

Brothers: Junior Courtney, Charlotte, NC; Donald Courtney, Charlotte, NC;

Gayle Courtney, Kings Mtn. NC

5 Grandchildren: Jennifer Thombs, Blake Sayers, Kalen Baliles, Magan Surber, and Hannah Surber.

4 Great-Grandchildren: Taylor Etherton, Brianna Greene, Cole Thombs, and Tinley Sayers.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Wednesday, August 17, 2016 2:00 P.M.

VISITATION: Family will receive friends immediately following the service at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
