Joe Thomas Spangler

Joe Thomas Spangler, 83, of Fallston, went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at home.

Born in Cleveland County, on November 29, 1939, he was a son of the late Everette Lawrence Spangler and Ottie Mae Lutz Spangler. Joe began his professional career as a barber, but would go on to become an entrepreneur starting several business. Two that he was most proud of was Challenger III and Deer Brook Golf Course. He loved to spend time playing golf, and with his family. Joe was a devoted Christian and active member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Joe's last request and wish is that everyone would come to know and love his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Gene Spangler and wife Versie.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Joreka Martin Spangler; two sons, Mike Spangler and wife Betty Jean and David Spangler and wife Gina all of Fallston; two brothers, Jack Spangler and wife Diane of Belwood and Roger Spangler and wife Carla of Shelby; two grandchildren, Emily Spangler of Gastonia and Thomas Spangler and wife Caroline of Lattimore.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, at Bethel Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church with the Dr. Tim Sims officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
