Mr. Joe Turner Cabaniss, Jr., 83, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Services were held at Webb Chapel of First Baptist Church. Burial was held in Zion Baptist Church cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Cabaniss served our country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII.
Mr. Cabaniss was preceded in death by his parents, Joe T. Cabaniss Sr and Gertrude Beam Cabaniss and four sisters, Margaret Gardner, Cance Marcoux, Jean Whitaker, Nell Throckmorton; one brother, B.L. “Boots” Cabaniss, four infant brothers and one granddaughter Emily Merrell.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mae Self Cabaniss; one son, Chris Cabaniss, wife Ann of Waxhaw; three daughters, Conni Willis, husband Dale of Shelby, Crystal Weathers, husband Wayne of Spartanburg, SC, Cathy Cabaniss of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one brother, Bill Cabaniss, wife Sarah of Texas and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild and one great-grandchild.
