MOORESBORO - Joe William Bailey, 77, of Prospect Church Road, Mooresboro, died on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Carolina’s Medical Center of Charlotte. A native of Cleveland County, he was born on March 27, 1937, a son of the late Sam Bailey and Blanche Tessneir Bailey. He was a retired Pulp Wood Cutter and member of Prospect Baptist Church. He loved racing, older cars, drag racing and always wanted to be working outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Columbus Bailey and Donnie Bailey; one sister, Frances Henson. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Beaver Bailey; one son, Sammy Bailey of Wingate, NC; one daughter, Donna Bailey Downey and husband Jerry of Forest City; two sisters, Louise Allison of Mooresboro and Aileene Beheler of Mooresboro.
A Celebration of Mr. Bailey’s Life will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, January 02, 2015 at Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Spencer and Ray Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:00pm in the sanctuary.
