Joel Dennis Mode, 94, of 2600 W. Stagecoach Trail, Shelby, died Sunday,
January 22, 2012 at Margrett Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville.
Born August 16, 1917 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Frank
Henry Mode and Minnie Etta Haynes Mode. He was retired from Cleveland Mills
as a supervisor. Mr. Mode was a member of Polkville Baptist Church and
served in the US Army during WWII in Japan.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nova Mae
Mode; two daughters, Penny Watson and Sandy Putnam.
Survivors: include two sons-in-law, Jim Putnam and Roger Watson;
grandchildren, Eric Watson, Jason Watson, Stephanie Watson, Bryan Putnam and
Joel Putnam and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Friday at Polkville Baptist Church
Funeral Service: 3:00 PM, Friday at Polkville Baptist Church.
Officiating: Rev. Rick Hamrick
Burial: Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery
