Blacksburg -- Joel Ted Huffman, 55, of 140 Huffman Ridge Road, passed away on Thursday, December 27th, 2018, at Peachtree Centre.

Born in Kings Mountain, he was the son of LaVonne Earls Blanton and the late Ted Huffman. He previously worked as a heavy equipment operator and was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his mother, Joel is survived by a brother, Tim Huffman and wife, Patience, of Blacksburg; two sisters, Emily Massey and husband, Jeff, of Chesnee, and Cindy Howard of Blacksburg; and one granddaughter, Destiny Huffman.

He was preceded in death by his father and his son, Brandon Huffman.

Graveside services for Mr. Huffman will be held on Saturday, December 29th, 2018, at 2:00 PM in the Huffman Family Cemetery, 435 Huffman Road, Blacksburg, with Rev. Lucky Earls officiating.

The family will be at the home of Tim Huffman, 248 Huffman Hill Road, Blacksburg, or his mother, 208 W. Carolina St, Apt B-6, Blacksburg.

The Blacksburg location of Gordon Mortuary is serving the Huffman family.
