John Burl Mauney, Jr., 88 of North Drive, Cherryville passed away, Friday,
August 2, 2019 at Carolina Care Health and Rehabilitation.

Born February 13, 1931 in Gaston County, he was a son of the late John Burl
Mauney, Sr. and Laura May Hawkins Mauney. He was retired from Anyware, LLC
in Charlotte and also served in the US Army.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives, Shirley
Timmons Mauney and Geraldine Hostler; son, John Mauney; a granddaughter,
Rebecca Hamrick; two brothers, Paul and Clyde Mauney and a sister, Mabel
Hagan.

Survivors include a son, Sam Mauney and wife, Wendy of Bessemer City; a
daughter, Candy Hamrick and husband, Joe of Cherryville; seven
grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday at Stamey-Cherryville
Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be 12:00 PM, Monday at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Sigmon officiating.

Burial will be private.
