Born in Cleveland County, on December 3, 1939, to the late John Thomas Martin and Burton Bell Blanton Martin. Mr. Martin was an Air Force veteran. He was a former church treasurer and deacon.  He retired from Bell South after forty years.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Annette Adams Martin; son Timothy, daughter-in-law, Debra and two grandchildren, Rebekah and Ian Martin; brother-in-law, Cleve Adams and wife, Carol and sister-in-law, Erma Parker and husband, E.W.
