RUTHERFORDTON - John Dempsey Horton, 33, of Rutherfordton passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. He was born on July 10, 1983 to Teresa Henderson Horton and the late Johnny Horton.
John is survived by his wife, Cassandra Horton of the home; one daughter, Christian Horton of Lattimore; two sons, Kevin Padgett of Lattimore and Wesley Horton of Ellenboro; mother, Diane Henderson Horton; one sister, Tiffany Tate of Ellenboro; two nephews, Dakota and Timothy Tate of Ellenboro; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
John enjoyed fishing and working with his hands. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed watching wrestling and the Pittsburg Steelers. He will truly be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at In His Hands Independence Baptist Church, 126 Hopewell Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040.
