John L. Montgomery, affectionately known as "Chip", of 294 Eds Road, passed away on Monday, March 20th, 2023, at Atrium Health Pineville.

Born in Kings Mountain, NC, he was the son of the late Jake Montgomery and Margie Blackwell Montgomery. John formerly worked at ABB and previously owned the Exxon Station in Blacksburg, SC. He loved raising exotic animals and Polled Hereford Cattle.

Surviving Mr. Montgomery are his son, Chad Montgomery (Necole) of Blacksburg, a daughter, Brooke Hannah of Kings Mtn, grandchildren, Ayden Moss, Kayla Gilfillan, Zach Montgomery, Kayley Bowen, and Noah Bowen, a special niece, Joey Crawford and a special nephew, Andy Montgomery.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Turner a brother, Chuck Montgomery and a niece, Debbie Duffie.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will immediately follow, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Nathan Price and Mr. Andy Montgomery officiating.

Interment will be at Grover City Cemetery.

Chase Crawford, Cameron Duffie, Forrest Kirby, Brooks Kirby, Joey Sprouse, Jackie Elliot, Shawn Sprouse, Mike Beam, Ayden Moss, and Brent Woods will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the residence, 294 Eds Road, Blacksburg, SC.
