John Marshall Kitts
John Marshall Kitts, 75, of Mount Pleasant Church Road, Mooresboro, died on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Peak Resources of Shelby. A native of Luttrell, TN, he was born on October 03, 1937, a son of late Raymond Lee and Zettie Jane Kitts. He was a retired Detention Officer with the Cleveland County Sheriffs Department and was a United States Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of Goode’s Grove Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon. Mr. Kitts was known as a “Jack of all Trades”.
 
He is survived by his wife, Inus Faye Merritt Kitts; one son, Michael Kitts and wife Amy of Campobello, SC; one daughter, Alicia Kitts Fortenberry of Mooresboro; two brothers, Raymond L. Kitts, Jr. and wife Jean of Knoxville, TN and Billy Kitts and wife Hermaline of Knoxville, TN; his grandchildren, Mallori Owens and husband Michael, Samuel Kitts and Kayla Scruggs, Emily Fortenberry, and Jacob Fortenberry; his great grandchildren, Madisyn Owens and Gracie-Kate Kitts.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Goode’s Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbie Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 7:00pm - 9:00pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
