John Nesbitt "Neb" Moss
John Nesbitt "Neb" Moss, 77,  514 S. Shelby Street, Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord August 19, 2013, at  Spartanburg Hospital For Restorative Care, Spartanburg, SC.  He is the husband of Shirley Tessner Moss of the home and a son of the late J. D. and Ellen Lanier Moss. Neb was a veteran of the United States Army and  was retired from Wendell Fabrics.  He was a past president of Iron City Cruisers.  He was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church.
 
In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by two daughters - Teresa Hamrick and husband, Bill, of Fallston, NC, and Karen Patterson and husband, Bryan, of Blacksburg, SC; one brother - Charles T. Moss and wife, Janie, of Blacksburg, SC;  five grandchildren - Misty Wright and husband Robert, Ashley P. Benton and husband Will, Nathan Patterson and wife Lindsey, Victoria McLeymore, and Brittany Rice; and 10 great-grandchildren - Cheyanne Henson, Derrick Henson, Keilee Wright, Alexis Hayes, Madison Crane, Tristan Wright, Gavin McLeymore, Christian Crane, Noah Patterson and Addison Benton.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother - Billy Gene Moss, and two sisters - Novella "Sally" Pennington and Rebecca "Becky" Martin. 
 
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6-8:00 PM at White Columns.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, August 22, 2013, 4:00 PM, at Nazareth Baptist Church, with Revs.  Eddie Bolin and James Billings officiating.  Entombment with military honors will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.  At other times, they will be at  the Patterson home, 240 Garden Lakes Drive, Blacksburg, SC. 
 
Pallbearers serving are Nathan Patterson, Derrick Henson, Ricky Martin, Chad Tessner,  Scott Tessner, Calvin Moss, Curtis Martin, Jr., and Kevin Tessner.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherokee County Meals On Wheels,  403 W. Montgomery St., Gaffney, SC, 29341.
