Blacksburg -- John Roland (J.R.) Dillingham, 78, of 207 Dillingham Drive, passed away Friday, October 23rd, 2015, at his residence.

Born in Blacksburg, he was the husband of Paulette Fowler Dillingham and the son of the late Clyde Dillingham and Ella Clary Dillingham. Mr. Dillingham retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and attended Freedom Fellowship Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Dillingham is survived by three sons, Rev. Terrell L. Dillingham, and wife LouAnn, of Lake Lure, NC, John Kevin Dillingham, and wife Sandy, of Gaffney, and Dennis D. Dillingham, and wife Debbie, of Blacksburg; one daughter, Rita D. Gardner, and husband Pastor Joel Gardner, of Blacksburg; seven grandchildren, Joshua Dillingham, Lacee Dillingham, Joey Gardner, Jennifer Jacobs and husband, Noah, Charles Curtis Dillingham and wife, Teyanna, Sara Ann Dillingham, and Matthew Dillingham; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Terrell Dillingham, Rev. Joel Gardner, Rev. Curtis Dillingham, and Rev. Tim Wilkie officiating. Noah Jacobs, Joey Gardner, Joshua Dillingham, Matthew Dillingham, Curtis Dillingham, and Jim Bolin will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or Freedon Fellowship Baptist Church, 164 Northey Street, Gaffney, SC 29340.

The family will be at the residence.
