John White, age 76, of Union Mills, NC, died December 8, 2013 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born December 1, 1937 in Rutherford County, NC, he was a son of the late Reid White and Eva Mae Ferguson White. He worked for Stonecutter Mills most of his life and was a member of Centennial United Methodist Church. He enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and hunting. He coached Rutherfordton Little Baseball for twenty-five years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Frank White.
Survivors include two sons, Greg White and wife, Sheri and Todd White and wife, Melissa all of Union Mills; two sisters, Hilda Conner and husband, Don of Spartanburg, SC and Martha Greene and husband, Lloyd of Bostic; brother, George White of Bostic and two grandchildren, Brooks White and Haley White.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Centennial United Methodist Church with Reverend Jack Crain officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
