John William Stallings, Sr., 86 of Downing Street, Shelby passed away
Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center.

Born September 30, 1929 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late T.
D. Stallings and Belle McCurry Stallings. He retired from The Auto Inn and
was a member of Hoyle Memorial United Methodist church. Mr. Stallings also
served in the US Army as a corporal.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "
Dot" Stallings and nine brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two sons, Bill Stallings and wife, Sandy of Shelby and
Mike Stallings and wife Donna of Kings Mountain; five grandchildren, Chris
Stallings, Selena Stallings, Lisa Hines, Matthew Hines and Jessica Stallings
- Smith; two great grandchildren, Baylor and Sam Stallings.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday at Stamey - Tysinger Funeral
Home.

A graveside service will be 2:45 PM Friday at Cleveland Memorial Park,
Boiling Springs.
