John Williamson, 76, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Hospice Cleveland County – Wendover Facility.  A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late John Harmon and Lucy Falls Williamson.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Donald, Alfred, and Dan Williamson.  Mr. Williamson served his country in the U. S. Marines.  He retired from Fiber Industries and served as a police officer for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.  He was a member of Double Springs Baptist church.  He loved Hamm and CB radios and was an avid mechanic.

Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife, Roselin Cornwell Williams of Shelby NC; daughters, Debra Lynn Williamson of Pittsburg, PA, Lea Williamson and husband Yuri Horner of Bryan, TX, Christine Williamson Trulby and husband Jim and their daughter Morgan Taylor Trulby, all of Franklin MA; sister, Freida W. Jackson of Taylorsville, NC.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00pm on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
