Mr. John Wonnie Webb Jr., 89, passed away on Friday, March 25,
2016 at Carolinas HealthCare Systems - Cleveland.

Wonnie was born on August 5, 1926, a native of Cherryville, NC, he was a
son of the late John Wonnie Webb Sr. and Maude Ferree Webb. He was a Life
long member of the First United Methodist Church, Cherryville, and a member
of the Men's Bible Class. Wonnie was retired as plant manager of the Meade
Knitting Mills and Varat Sports Wear of Cherryville. He served in the US
Navy during WWII, was a member of the Cherryville American Legion Post 100
and a member of the Cherryville Masonic Lodge #505 A.F. & A.M. for over 50
years. Wonnie was also an avid Atlanta Braves Fan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Etheleen
Webb Dover.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Margaret Dellinger Webb, of the
home; two sons, Danny Webb wife, Teresa Smith Webb of Cherryville; Rick Webb
and wife Phyllis Parker Webb of Colfax, NC; six grandchildren, Parker Webb,
Darin Webb wife Emily, Taylor Webb wife Kelsey, Hannah Webb, Laura Webb
Price, husband Nick; one Great Grandchild, Hadley Grace Webb; one sister,
Dr. Nell Webb Mohney, Chattanooga, TN

Visitation will be on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 1:00PM to 2:30PM at First
Untied Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday March 28, 2016 at 3:00
PM at First United Methodist Church, Cherryville, with the Rev. Joe Collins,
D. Min. officiating.

Burial will be at City Memorial Cemetery with Military Rites by Cherryville
American Legion Post 100 and Masonic Rites by Cherryville Masonic Lodge #505
A.F. & A.M.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First United
Methodist Church, 601 N. Pink Street, Cherryville, NC 28021.
