Mr. Wilmoth Duke “Johnny” Kerns, Sr., 82, of 206 Edgemont Dr., Kings Mountain, NC, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Services were held at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Kings Mountain, NC. Burial followed in Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC. 

Mr. Kerns served our country in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Wilmoth and Weort Duke Waizmann.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Crouse Kerns; 2 sons, Wilmoth Duke “Butch” Kerns, Jr. and wife Donna of Gastonia, NC and Clyde C. Kerns and wife Faye of Kings Mountain, NC; and 6 grandchildren.
