Johnny Leander Horton, 56, of 392 Shires Road, Ellenboro, died Sunday, April
22, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.
Born December 4, 1955 in Yuba City, CA he was a son of the late Dempsey
Horton and Lettie Sue Church Horton. He was employed by Abercombie Textiles
as a frame operator and attended In His Hands Independent Baptist Church in
Mooresboro.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry
Horton and a sister, Deborah Horton.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Dianne Henderson Horton; son, John
Dempsey Horton of Shelby; daughter, Tiffany Michelle Horton Tate and
husband, John of Ruth; three grandchildren, Christain Horton, Kevin Padgett
and Dakota Tate; brother, Ed Horton of Gastonia; and three sisters, Deona
Horton and Tracy Chapman both of Oklahoma and Emby Whitlock of Newton.
Visitation: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston.
Officiating: Rev. Donald White
Burial will be private
