Johnny Leroy White, age 73, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Hospice Wendover. He was born May 23, 1944 in Cleveland County and was the son of the late John Odell and Margaret Mayhue White. Johnny retired from Carolina Freight and was an avid drag racer and fan. Johnny was also a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Earl and a member of the Mighty Mopar Club.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Dale McIntyre White; one son Mackie Wright his wife Julie and their son, Mason Wright of Shelby; and one daughter, Kiley Hartwyk and husband Bryan of Shelby; two sisters, Debbie Anderson and husband Noah of Earl and Brenda Wellmon and husband Earl of Shelby; and a nephew, Chris Anderson.

A private family graveside service was held at Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
