Joseph "Joe" Elisha Broughton, 77, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on December 13, 1944. he was the son of the late Joseph Burton Broughton and Rosie Pipken Broughton. He was a retired truck driver for W&B Trucking out of Kings Mountain.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Shirley Poston Broughton; son, Burt Broughton and wife Nicole; daughter, Barbie Sprouse; three sisters, Teressa Muse, Gale Monahan, and Joan Harrill; and four grandchildren, Alyssa Broughton, Hunter Ledford, Weston Sprouse, and Clay Whitworth.

All services will be private.
