Joseph “Joe” Lanier Wright  Jr age 68, died Sunday September 1, 2013 at Kings Mountain Hospice. Born in Guilford County, he was the son of the late Joseph Lanier and Grace Jones Wright. Joe was a former member of the Shelby Elks Lodge. He was a hardware manager for Henson’s Building Material for 11 years in Forest City and most recently he worked at Sherwin William’s until his illness.  He was a people person and enjoyed getting to know people. Joe had a dynamic personality.

Joe is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dianne Meador Wright; a son, Jason Lanier Wright and wife Ginger of Rigby Idaho; two grandchildren,  Elizabeth Wright and Phoebe Wright both of Rigby Idaho; a sister, Glenda Yow and husband Larry  of North Wilkesboro; sister-in-law, Delores Piner and husband Charles of Gastonia; and mother-in-law, Doris Meador of Shelby.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday September 17, 2013 at 10:00am at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev.Don Conrad officiating. The family will receive friends following the service,
