Mr. Joseph "Joey" Grady Dunlap, 36, and Mrs. Michelle Shaffer Dunlap, 36, passed away tragically in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Maggie Valley, NC.

Joey was a wonderful son, loving husband and a devoted father. He was part owner of Dunlap Towing and recently established Cherryville Auto & Towing. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of Cherryville Masonic Lodge 505 AF & AM; a member of Scottish Rite Bodies and Oasis Shriners of Charlotte and also member of Cherryville Shrine Club. Michelle was a loving wife and an affectionate mother to her daughters. She was a Care Coordinator at Healthfirst of Charlotte. She also enjoyed trade shows as a representative for Scentsy. Joey and Michelle were happily married for 17 years. They were avid motorcyclists and enjoyed camping as a family. They were enthusiastically involved in their daughters' sports and music. They were active members of Mt Zion Baptist Church of Cherryville and very fond of their church family.

Joey and Michelle are survived by two amazing daughters Tori and Lindsay Dunlap, who were the loves of their lives. Joey is also survived by his parents, Jeff and Becky Dunlap of Cherryville and brother David of Concord. Michelle is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Linda Greenway Shaffer of Charlotte. She is survived by her step-mother, Annette Shaffer of Stanley; sisters Wanda Williams of Mt Holly and Sharon Lawing of Charlotte; brother, Darrell Shaffer of Charlotte and step-brother, Stephen Long of Stanley.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 1:00PM until 2:45PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cherryville.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Key and Alan Newcomb officiating. Masonic Rites for Joey will also be held at the Church.

Burial will be Private.
