Joseph McGugan, age 62 of Cherry Manor, formerly of Will McAllister Rd. passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at Gastonia Care and Rehabilitation. He was born April 24, 1955 in Gaston County to the late Archie and Letha Gainey McGugan. Joe worked in textiles and enjoyed going to church. He was a very protective and loving daddy to his three girls. He found great pleasure in spending time with his grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed watching tv.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John McGugan.
Survivors include his three daughters, Debbie Floyd of Savannah, GA, Amy Allen of Hickory Grove, SC, and Sharon McGugan of Kings Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Steven, Amanda, Brandon, Logan, Ashley, Tyler, Trevor, Alex, Morgan, Hanna, Devon, and Max; great grandchildren, Christopher, Caralina, Zoie, Piper, Addison, Kayley, Little Steven, Riley, Taylor, Billy, and Payton; brother, Leon McGugan; and sisters, Sarah Maksion and Pearline Propst.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Hardin Community Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
