DALY CITY, CALIFORNIA - Joshua Neil Mooney, "Josh", 25, of Belmont, Daly City, California, formerly of Shelby, died on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at his residence. A native of Cleveland County, he was born on January 21, 1989, a son of the late David Sherill Mooney and Sherry Grigg and husband Steven of Shelby. He was of the Baptist faith, a 2007 graduate of Crest High School and was a Dog Walker with Dogstar Dog Walking of San Francisco, California.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Patsy Mooney and Ben and Jean Hollifield. In addition to his mother and step-father, he is survived by one brother, Tyler Mooney of Shelby; one sister, Heather Mooney of Shelby; one half brother, Chuck Mooney of Shelby; one half sister, Tonya Mooney of Shelby; his girlfriend, Kim O'Hara of Daly City, California.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at The A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:00pm at the funeral home.
