Joyce Ledford Mauney, 88, passed away Wednesday October 14, 2015 at Peak Resources - Cherryville. Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Hoyle and Mattie Shuford Ponder. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Bryan Hayes Ledford, her second husband, Jessie Hugh Mauney, a son, Randy Ledford, and a sister, Patsy Reynolds.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Shelby.

Mrs. Mauney is survived by two sons, Roddy B. Ledford and wife Linda of Greer, SC, Reggie Ledford and wife Jeri of Shelby, a daughter in-law Margaret P. Ledford of Hope Mills, NC, three sisters, Bleeka P. Goforth, Treva P. Mullinax, and Linda P. Appling and husband Wayne all of Kings Mountain. Grandchildren, Kim Byram and husband David of Simpsonville, SC, Lisa Frazier and husband Steve of Simpsonville, SC, Bryan Ledford and wife Patty of Holly Springs, NC, Bradley Ledford and wife Melissa of Hope Mills, NC, Bryce Leford and wife Ashley of Hope Mills, NC, Ben Ledford of Shelby, and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother in-law, Jim Mauney and wife Francis, sisters in-law, Helen Delois,Louise Campbell, Sue Mauney, Ann Williams, Virginia Efird, and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday October 17, 2015 at the Webb Chapel of First Baptist Church of Shelby with the Rev. Perry Holleman and Rev Carlton McDaniel officiating, burial will follow in the Grover Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm Saturday at the church.
