| Judy Claire Thornton, 59, of 904 Lake Drive in Shelby, died on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at home. A native of Franklin County, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Francis Victor and Charlene Knox Fuller Thornton. She was employed as a bartender for Fatz Restaurant. She enjoyed crafting and was noted for her beautiful Christmas decorations. Mrs. Thornton was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by family, friends, customers and co-workers at Fatz.
Ms. Thornton is survived by her sister Vickie Buskill husband Charles of Shelby; three nieces, Katie and Amy Buskill of Shelby, Amanda Buskill of Atlanta; two great nephews, Michael Buskill and Ronnie Teague of Shelby.
The family will receive friend from 6:00 – 7:00pm on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Humane Society of Cleveland County, 1609 East Marion Street, Shelby NC 28150 or Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150.
