Judy Hampton Ellis

Gaffney -- Judy Hampton Ellis, 72, of 1434 N Limestone Street, passed away Sunday, September 13th, 2015, at Testa Family Hospice.

Born in Cherokee County, she was the widow of James Clarence Ellis and the daughter of the late Johnny Dewey Hampton and Margie Collins Hampton. Mrs. Ellis retired from textiles and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Ellis are two sons, Scott Parris and Jamie Ellis, both of Gaffney; a daughter, Crystal Chesnee, of Gaffney; three sisters, Jolene Martin, Gail Mullinax, and Karen (Sissy) Martin, all of Blacksburg; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Hampton.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 17th, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Sellers, Rev. Jamie Ellis, and Rev. Doug Lawing officiating. Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Steve Martin, Steve Mullinax, Jason Martin, Jacob Mullinax, Kamran Ellis, Jessie Martin, Ryan Greene, and Randy Martin will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the home of Steve and Karen Martin, 313 West Carolina Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702.
