SHELBY-Kathleen Jean Shelly Hutchinson, 67, went on to be with the Lord on Monday, June 27 2016.

She was born July 29, 1948, in Buffalo, NY, to Francis and Olive Shelly. She attended school in Alden, NY. As a little girl, she would sit by her window waiting for the paper boy, who would later become the love of her life. They united as one in marriage on July, 4^, 1968 as Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hutchinson.

In 1978, the Lord led them south to reside in Shelby, NC. She retired from Cleveland County School System after 31 years. For the past 4 years she worked and ministered as a church secretary at Lafayette Street United Methodist Church.

Kathy went home to with the Lord and her son, Matthew Leonard Hutchinson. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Olive Shelly.

She is survived by her loving husband, Leonard "Lenny" Hutchinson. God blessed them with 48 wonderful years of marriage. Kathy is also survived in death by her son, Scott Hutchinson and partner Harvey Lefort; daughter-in-law Katie Hutchinson; grandchildren Kylie Hutchinson and Scott Ward; sister Lynn Kephart; sister-in-law Lois Ingalsbe; special friends, Chris Borders and partner Colt Billiot, and Lisa and Danny Price and their daughters.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Funeral services will be held 3pm, Sunday, July 3, at Lafayette Street United Methodist Church.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 1-3pm, Sunday, in the church fellowship hall.

BURIAL: will follow in Sunset Cemetery

CLERGY: Revs. Lane Carter, Rick Robinson, and Arthur Holland.
