Blacksburg -- Kathy Ellis Beattie, 69, of 121 Killian Street, passed away Sunday, September 11th, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of John William Beattie, Sr. and the daughter of the late John Ellis and Polly Roark Ellis. Mrs. Beattie worked as a Office Manager at Bethel Adult Day Care and was a member of Heaven's Trail Cowboy Church.

Mrs. Beattie is survived by one son, Robert Andrew (Robbie) Beattie and wife, Jacklyn of Blacksburg; one sister, Linda Harris of Blacksburg; one brother, Keith Ellis of Blacksburg; four grandchildren, Layla Beattie and Tegan Beattie of Blacksburg, Danielle Beattie and Dustin Beattie of Gaffney; three step-grandchildren, Brian Anthony Castle and Christopher Daniel Castle of Buffalo, SC and April Dawn Millwood of Union; 7 step-great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Robin Beattie of Union.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John William Beattie, Jr. and a brother, Butch Ellis.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 14th, 2016, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 15th, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary with Rev. Jeff Harris, Evangelist Darran Lanier, and Dr. J. W. Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery.
