Katie Lou Davis, age 79, of Forest City, NC, died August 30, 2014 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born July 3, 1935 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Grover John Holland and Roxanna Lovelace Holland. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. Katie also worked in textiles for several years and was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Charles Loudice Davis; two sons, Larry Davis and Allen Davis; two brothers, Grover C. Holland and James Holland; three sisters, Sara Barnes, Peggy Dixon, Linda Yelton and one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Lattimore.
Survivors include two sons, Charles “Steve” Davis and wife, Rita of Forest City and Terry Davis of Mooresboro; daughter, Janice Lattimore and husband, Charles of Forest City; brother, John Holland and sister, Barbara Moore both of Ellenboro. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
