Kenneth "Babe" Ray Kimbrell, age 79, of Ellenboro, died Monday, June 6, 2016 at Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born December 26, 1936 in Rutherford County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Archie Kimbrell and Lillian Phillips Kimbrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Blanton Kimbrell.
Survivors include three children, Gary Kimbrell, Duane Kimbrell and wife Debbie, Teresa Dick and fiancé Jeff Cooke; four brothers, Joe Kimbrell, James Kimbrell, Earl Kimbrell, Tommy Kimbrell and wife Cindy; and one sister, Nancy Waters. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kristen Greene, Kimberly Conard, Christopher Kimbrell, Stephanie Kimbrell, Trina Conard, Jonathan Kimbrell, Brittany Dalton, Natasha Kimbrell and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Harrelson Funeral Home prior to the service and at other times at the home of Kristen Greene, 141 Hawks Ridge Dr., Forest City, NC 28043.
