Kenneth Daniel Bailey, age 72, of Rutherfordton, was born September 9, 1943 in Rutherford County to the late Ralph Bailey and Clara Bailey Jackson. He died May 24, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was a graduate of Chase High and Isothermal Community College. Kenneth was an Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. During his tour of duty, he received many medals, including a Purple Heart. He was a salesman for Pepsi Bottling Company, and later for Frito Lay.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Bailey and Billy Bailey, and his sisters, Carolyn Sink and Burean Cole.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen Lowery Bailey; his children Rebecca Bailey of the home, Tina Wallace (Casey) of Shelby, NC, Treva Croussore (Jason) of Rutherfordton, NC and Julie Webb (Brandon) of Ellenboro, NC and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Harrelson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Long Branch Road Baptist Church at 11:00 am on Friday with Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery with Military Honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Long Branch Road Baptist Church or Hospice.
