Kenneth "Kenny Ray Blanton

Kenneth "Kenny Ray Blanton, age 72 died Wednesday November 11, 2015 at his home. Born in Cleveland County on June 10, 1943 he was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth Bryant Blanton. Kenny served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was stationed in Okinawa Japan in 1963-1966. Kenny was a master electrician and retired from Bisner Electric. In addition to his parents, Kenny is preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy B. Panther; a grandson, Trent Bowling; a brother, Jimmy W. Blanton; and two sisters, Alice Fayer Hager and LaVonda Powell.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patsy Simmons Blanton; a son, Dale Blanton of Shelby; great granddaughter, Hunter McKinley Bowling; son-in-law, Terry "Spanky" Panther of Blacksburg SC; two brothers, Bill Blanton and wife Elaine and Carroll Blanton and wife Mildred all of Shelby; and a sister, Gail Laney of Boiling Springs.

Graveside service with full Military honors will be held on Saturday November 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Sunset Cemetery with Pastor Howard Stroup officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
