Kenneth Ray Lowman, 79 of Acre Rock Road, Lawndale passed away, Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.

Born May 17, 1937 in Catawba County, he was a son of the late Willie Cletus Lowman and Fannie Ruth Fulbright Lowman. He was in the US Army and was stationed in Germany.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives, Ilse Volstadt and Frances Tesseneer; a daughter, Sherry Lynn; a brother, Willie Lowman and three sisters, Lucille Moore, Gladys Simmons and Pauline Jones.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Lowman of Valdese and Donald Lowman of Albemarle; two daughters, Rita Ledford and husband, John of Vale and Wanda Bryant and husband, Wayne of Fallston; four brothers, Bobby Lowman and wife, Georgia of Icard, Quinton Lowman of Connelly Springs, David Lowman and wife, Sandra of Hickory and Larry Lowman of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Mary Lee Huffman of Hickory, Kathleen Houston and husband, Billy of Conover and Glenda Wilmer of Monroe; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Wednesday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Homer Tessneer officiating.

Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
