Kimberly Jane Lackey Carpenter, age 47 of High Ridge Circle, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018. She was born April 27, 1970 in Cleveland County to Peggy Jane Powell Lackey of Charlotte and the late Wilburn Dwight Lackey. She received her certification as a LPN from Cleveland Community College. She was employed at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center and formerly worked at Health and Rehab of Gastonia. Kim loved riding motorcycles and horses. She loved being a Nana and cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She was full of life and loved by many.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Herman Rickey Carpenter Jr.; children, Jessica Sain and husband, Philip, Heather Anthony, William Blair Anthony and wife, Brittany, and Kasey Arrowood; brother, Andy Lackey; sister, April Ormand; grandchildren, Brylee Sain, Noah Sain, Chance Young, Bella Rhae Young, Eli Anthony, Bryson Anthony, and Baylee Anthony; and special friends, Joe Arrowood, Carolyn Anthony, and Loretta Hodge.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Jerry Millwood and Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lifeshare of the Carolinas. Through Lifeshare, Kim's legacy will continue to live on through the lives of other, as she was able to donate her heart, kidneys, and liver.
